Hi I'm new to this board but I've been listening to electronica for quite a few years (think one of my first electronic tapes was "Trip to the Moon" yes, I'm old). I was quite active in the T.O. club scene (working) for about 10 years 'till I got in a car accident and sort of lost touch with the crowd.

Anyways, My girlfriend has convinced me to spend New Years with her in Niagara Falls. I know that Niagara has never been a major electronica hub but I was wondering if there are any events in the area for New Years Eve or if you could reccomend some venues.

My interests lie in trance, house and assorted variations (lovin' the goa!!)

Clubs, lounges, of after hours are all good, but I'm not a big fan of jungle, raves or errrggg... "oriental islands"((no offence)people stiing around on the floor 'cause there too waxed), etc...

I heard the Rialto nightclub, behind the Casa d'Oro restaurant plays a fair share of dance music, but I've never been so I can't tell you about the crowd. What i DO know is they have an original 1970's disco, complete with moat of water around the dance floor. It's so cheese, its awesome! I'd love to post a pic of it here, but I need it hosted. I'll see what I can do.

no he is not joking...it is kind of sad right now for edm in niagara...because it is such a smaller area....they have been making laws...like hiring cops at any after hours place...which is just trouble, and no one wants to party with police...

Niagara Falls seems to be able not to have cops...but for promoting and after hours there is only a few people that want to effort to get on started...

i know i have been trying to get a night at a club to play proper edm, whether it prop, house, trance...but it is a university/college area where they really don't care what type of music it is...just as long as there booze and fights...

the answer to your question is that it is very slim to find any afterhours 19+ or a lounge with edm
