All of the energy drinks have low carb, diet, or sugar free versions. Monster's low carb one is almost as good as the regular. It's the high fructose corn syrup that is generally considered to be "bad". Regular Rockstar has that in it. Monster doesn't. That is why I prefer Monster. What gives you most of the energy is the high content of B complex and Niacin as well as the caffeine. Sure the carbs and sugar give it that extra umph, but when you take them away you need something to maintain the energy level that was intended. Ginseng and Guarana are also in some energy drinks. They are no worse than soft drinks. At least with an energy drink you are getting some vitamins.
