Hey there, was hoping to get some personal opinions on these two tables. I have a pretty econimic set now (SA-600II) and was looking to upgrade. It just seems like the techs are based on rep and the ttx's have more for the buck?

Well as far as i can tell The ttx looks much better if you are looking at doing alot of scratching and stuff because it has ultra high torque but if you are just mixing techs are supposed to be top quality and very long life

i think the ttx1 is much better value for money, but the technics are better than the numarks on build quality. if you are looking to scratch, the ttx1 is probably your better option, as they have the interchangable tonearm so you can choose between straight and s-shape arms, plus the torque factor. the ttx1 also has the fast pitch settings which are great, and something that the technics lack, although the numarks way of doing it isn't as good as some other ultra-pitchesque decks.

even if you are just into mixing i found the ttx1s better than the technics because you can perform corrections in ur mix with great precision using ur hands on the platter (which is very difficult to get right on technics.) i owned a pair of ttx1s but i sold them for my m5gs. you may think ive just contradicted myself. well the reason i sold em was because im startin to DJ out. if you have the same intention then do not get any other turntable other than technics. you will want to be good on them. when switchin from ttx1s to technics i went from very good and mixing to an utter n00b. 2 weeks later and im still finding my feet but im gettin pretty good again

If you want to play out it will be on Technics. My main DJ specialization is turntablism and honestly you can do any scratch you can do on a TTX1 on a 1200. If you really like the TTX1s alot then get them.

true, but if you want to learn to do this stuff, its harder to learn it on a 1200, simply because of the tonearm setup.

True, its a little harder but you're going to be expected to do your scratch routine on some Techs if you get good enough.

Same here. If I could switch over to an straight arm I wouldn't. They work just fine as s-arms. Maybe if I got a 3rd deck I could just use that for scratching and mix on the other two I'd switch over to a straight arm.

Theres a mod you can do to your Technics to make them interchangeable, from straight to S shaped.
