Dunno Working Daylight Vs DJ/Producer

Hi friends...

ive been djing n Producing only for a year... n I love it!!
Now Im wondering...

Can you work on the day n do DJ at night?
How do you get through with this?

Put it this way:
1) u r a famous DJ in ur city.. u got a rave event tonite to spin... but the next morning u got to work in an office.. *u r a manager/marketer etc...*

2) I have to make an album in my studio at the evening after office, due date is coming... i have to rush from office to my studio..

SO do you do this together.. or "when i DJ/Produce, i do DJ n Produce only ..for living"?????

Cheers!

Thats just how it goes. Theres no such thing as overnight success if you want to get to a point where you can support yourself from being a DJ/Producer then you're going to have to put in the hard work. That includes working full time to support yourself and your music and going out at night and meeting people and making connections and getting your name out there.

DJ at night, telemarketeer during the day.

That's why I did for a few weeks. I eventually quit my job as a telemarketeer. I just couldn't handle it anymore.

It's all about making choices.

I think if you are a famous dj, you don't have to work during the day.

to make enough money to stop working you will need to be very talented and get a lot of work. as a dj, this is easier to do than it is with production, although regular work is a must. when you can earn £200-300 a week through djing, then its time to quit normal work in my books (obviously, this depends on circumstances etc).

re: production, its hard to make a living from it at the moment, you need a lot of talent and very good PR. there are a lot of bigger names who have had to hold on to day jobs for a long time before being in a position to give it up, some still working day jobs part-time, or having a related studio job as well as the production.

Well i was teaching full time in a primary school and still djing 4 nights a week...... that was fun
I know plenty of people who have day jobs and still do it- and we arent talking flipping burgers in BK here, im talking proper full time careers

I created my own work in the day (record shop and some other stuff) - as it simply gets boring otherwise

it's hard to both work and DJ.

both take a ton of time and energy.

and you find little time for sleep..
