Personally I don't think they are usually worth their price here, unless it's featuring your fav. dj or something... The only other 'useful' purpose I find is the gear info, especially when they do some comparisons.

however.. I am guilty of having my fair share.. and though I agree they are mostly UK centered, I usually ended up getting DJ Mag or IDJ, BPM is oooook for north american publication..

I personally find Mix Mag & all those Ibiza hype rags to be mostly junk.. but the magazine that features the "Is it YOU??" is worth a few chuckles.
