what does barhop thing means ?

On NYE, going from bar to bar, about 15 in total, during the whole night.

there was a thread about that...but I cant find it.....
could be interesting...but I dont know about traveling half the night on NYE

actually I think it's on December 30th not NYE (so I've heard from friends living in Mtl)
