Tranceport got me in as well
Funny story: my friend bought this cd, cause a) he thought it was Mike Oldfiend, not Oakenfold, and b) he thought the girl behind the counter was cute. Anyways, I was playing pool at his house one night and he put it on, and it was just the most amazing music I'd ever heard. I asked if I could buy it off him for 20$ (he paid 30) and he said sure. A week later, Out there and Back was released which for 3 months I listened non stop 2-3 times a day, (swear to God, no shitting here) anyways, this cd started it all, and the rest is history. Two weeks ago I asked Oakey to sign it which he did , and then after I told him his cd cost me a lot of money because of it I became a dj! He said "cheers mate"

It’s a great CD for sure! Used to listen to it a lot, as well as to Robert Miles.

Best Trance CD ever.
I got into the "EDM scene" in 96 after I listened to Sash! - Ecuador (I know, I know ), but officially got into trance after listening to this CD...I spent the summer of '99 in the Netherlands and picked it up there and couldn't stop listening to it that entire time...

Got me to Love Edm

Actually funny story. I get back to Montreal after that summer ranting and raving about how good this "new" music was and end up giving it to one of my best friends who used to work at HMV. She then proceeds to take a look at the CD, then at me, shakes her head slowly with that empathetic "where have you been" coupled with that "you call this good music" look, and proceeds to give me Deep Dish's Yoshiesque CD that had just come out, making sure to emphasize my cheesy and primitive musical taste.
Of course, I listen to Deep Dish, hate it, tell her that her musical taste is garbage, and proceed to trumpet the virtues of trance. Give me trance damn it!!! Of course, she gives me the inevitable "you'll evolve one day" and "so will your musical taste", while giving me the
Two years later, after listening to nothing but trance, I pop Yoshiesque into my player by mistake, and am completely floored. Woooaahhhh, this is good shit! Of course, after realizing this was the Deep Dish CD my friend had given me, I felt like a loser. Afer a period of "I love house denial", I finally admitted to her that I loved that proggy house sound, that she had superior musical taste, that I bowed down before her and all that other flattering jazz in order for her to spare my dignity. She, of course, feels no sympathy whatsoever, proceeds to rub it in, makes me feel like a noob, and proceeds to glorify this episode as one of so many instances of women's superiority regarding everything, which of course prompts me to retaliate and causes the entire conversation to degenerate into something that has nothing to do with EDM. At any rate, without going into the gory details that ensued from that conversation, I've been a house whore since
