I think you are missing the point, although your personal preference is up to you.
I didn't buy the CDJ-800 just so I could emulate vinyl for cheap. I bought it because it is one of the best CD players on the market. The vinyl is an added (albiet very important) bonus.
The point isn't trying to 'emulate' vinyl, the point is to make music.
Besides, maybe I'm alone here (I doubt it), but I'd much rather be manipulating CDs, knobs, switches and buttons than a mouse and keyboard. I guess the difference is that I prefer a stand-alone unit, a set that I can just plug in and play, rather than messing with a computer.

I have SSL and CDJs. If I had to ditch one it would be the CDJs.
With SSL you don't need to touch the computer. You can scroll and select songs with the vinyl. If you don't want to do it that way you can use keyboard commands to select a track and put it on the deck.
Either way, I think it's easier than flipping through vinyl or a book of CDs.
