I've been using Reason on/off for around 3 months now. I've finally decided to make a remix to one of the popular songs of 2004. This is my first EDM production. The only other production that I have made in Reason was a rap instrumental for my friend, but that wouldn't interest very many of you

Anyways, I decided to do a Foreplay remix since I love that bassline so so much! I don't do the song justice, but hey it's my first attempt at making an EDM song.

Probspot - Foreplay (akr Remix)

The main melody thing needs some note correction in the chords, but for that I need to get a MIDI to USB converter so I can use my Yamaha keyboard for note typing. I hate using software keyboards for inputing notes

I need some suggestions. This song is very incomplete. I wanted to take a break and post it and see if I am heading in the right diretion with my bassline, percussion and melodies. Any suggestions good, bad or very bad are very much welcome.

Why don't you draw the notes into the sequencer with a mouse like everyone else? Haha.

Anyways, I can't even really tell that this is Foreplay. The bass kind of suggests it but there's not enough going on for it to be recognizable. Also, try and get some swingier percussion going on, the best part of the original is the groove it has.
