Pitching changes on it's own

I think i've already found out what's wrong anyway. When playing some tunes, there is some very quiet crackling in the background, and sometimes a note changes it's pitch by it's self. This is probably because because i have crappy decks. (2 Numark tt1625's). Or maybe it's the needle?

Cheers.

I owned 1625's before. I kept better pitch using my finger to revolve the record.

Yeah, but say for example i just put a record on from the beginning and just left it to play. I don't touch any eq's or anything just leave it playing (on 0 pitch setting). The crackling then happens and sometimes notes change pitch..

Maybe i haven't got my tonearm set correctly. Because i know i havn't. The tonearm slants down to the platter. That's not normal. But how do i correct it?

Are you shure its in 0%. I know my Stantons do wierd things, but not like that.. it might be your motor like they said above, if it is sucks for you man. I don't know any ways around it sadly.

Give more details, i might be able to help out some.

But i have two Stanton 30b's and the pitch does its job on mine, never seen it skip... The torque is another story, but its not horrible. Looking at getting Stanton 100's or 150's .

Also check the record itself... play it on your other table, if the same thing happens, then you know its the record. Just a few ideas. Let me know more details.

this will probably happen more towards the middle of the pitch fader, around 0. how old are the decks? sure they fluctuate but you shouldn't really pick out the diffreence in such a way..

although nearer 0 it will fluctuate more, its a fact of life with all non-quartz locked motors. even the 1210mk2 had this problem.

it is not your tonearm or cartridge. if it isnt the record then it will be the motor. these decks are pant, but they are great to learn on. i have found that the least amount you touch the platter the better. you should be able to string a mix together on them though, if they arn't fucked that is.

I know what the problem is, well half of it anyway. It's definetly the left turntable that's making the pitch bend by it's self. The right one is fine. What do you think could be the problem? Maybe it's the ground wire at the back of the mixer?I was playing a tune and setting it to the build-up on each turntable. I tried it on number 1 and the pitch just seems to bend, then when i put it on number 2, it was fine. Any suggestions? The needle looks okay i guess and the tonearm, and it's definetly not the record.

I only just got these, yeah they were second hand (ebay) but he only had them for a couple of months. My mate had these and they lasted him a year and they worked great for him, no problems! But i still think it's my tonearm, or my ground wire.

Cheers for any sugestions.

Shouldn't be the ground wire though. Are the RCA cables new?

tonearms and ground wires do not cause motor fluctuation. it sounds to me like one deck is dying.

Is there any sort of way i could try and prevent this. I've only just got them. Oh and i've had them for about a week now, and it's just the past 2 days that this has started to happen. Yeah, the ground wires are in properly. No, rca cables are not new they come with the package. I tried switching the cartridges around but it's nothing to do with the needles. It's not like the bending of the notes happens at certain times, it just happens randomly in the track. Sometiems it doesn't d it for along time tehn all of a sudden the track will slow down for literally 0.3 seconds. It is notcieable too.

Any suggestions?
