Sad A sad day for some gamers-Goodbye to Wish

I was beta testing for a MMORPG called Wish...it was geared for UO players. I thought it had some great potential but was shocked to find out that today was the last day it would exist.

Too bad it didn't have a proper chance, it seemed like there could have been lots of fun. (I've never been sad about a game before, angry yes, but not sad)

*sniff*

best game ever (in my opinion of course...lots didn't like it)

I beta tested it since beta 1.0 a year ago...i'm shocked.
It's obvious that people like to play the same cookie-cutter mmorpgs like EQ, EQ2, WoW, DAoC and any other game that has Ub3r Graphix, an extremely boring lvl grind and static quests.

Good luck to the devs at Mutable Realms.

over at #wish channel on irc.sorcery.net no one knows what to do with themselves lol...wish has spoiled us

After I got past the shock, I found out about another game called Darkfall--may fill the Wish void. Apparently they are planning to have PvP/PK'ing and houses. I really want to find something that isn't a 'cookie cutter' MMORPG and is more about concept rather than just looking good.

P.S. You forgot SWG in you list, lol...boo

Darkfall looks pretty good...Dark & Light as well as Mourning are other similar games.

but let me direct you to this:
Project Wish

Project Wish is a bunch of dedicated Wish fans that formed after the cancellation of wish was announced to try and keep Wish alive. The original intention was to try and get the developers to continue the project without their ties with invenstors etc but that was a no go...

the support for project wish has been pretty big so far, (the forums are about 24 hours old with 210 registered members and rising), that it's been decided that they're going to build their own mmorpg based on the principles of wish (live content, skill system etc etc)... There's been a lot of help offered so far including an offer from Planeshift (current MMORPG in developement) to merge with them.

Anyways, check it out...I'm Tool from the boards and in the irc room.

WoW isnt just another cookie cutter mmorph, some of the basics are, perhaps, cookie cutter, but the game overall has come a long way sine that of EQ, and some new VERY interesteing pvp rules will be implemented soon in WoW.
there are going to be arenas where its of course, faction vs faction (ie horde vs alliance) but there are contested zones bettween (graveyards) and super mobs that hold elite items, all this is going on in a pvp arena, with honor points earned by kills and whatever that you can turn in to aid your faction in this battle... like isaid its not out, but its far from cookie cutter...
or you just dont like mmorpg's?

bah i beta'd wish...great game in my opinion and im sad to see it go. A big cheers to mutable. I mean its really hard to compete when one of the biggest mmorpg drops one of the biggest games of the year.

without the cookie cutters like EQ then there would be no WISH however. They laid the grounds. And SWG is no where near cookie cutter hehe

There is nothing innovative about WoW, it's just a polished copy of ideas from other mmo's. Same boring classes, same boring quests that have been completed by 10000 people before you (How many times do we really have to defend Daphne's farm!?!?! maybe she should just move.), etc
