i've finished off my remix of insomnia by faithless.. after recieving some critsicism and tidying up the mix a bit, here is a near as damn it final cut:

Faithless - Insomnia (Steve's Sleepless Nights Remix)

- pre-break is very danceable and energetic
- break at 1:52 is a bit empty and the emptiness doesnt seem to build tension like the original
- im not too fond of the lead synth. do some LFO work maybe, or change it all together
- the track begs for some strings that complement the lead
- i like the outro, the part after the lead stops. strong production.

intro = very system f/armin style, i like it, got that weird rolling bassline which i am fond of.

1:58 - bit empty round here, could do with a pad or something...

2:20 - break and gated lead works, i like it.

general comments,

the lead could of been thicken up, another gated lead or arp will do at abt 3:45 etc

personally i would of added a fat supersaw in the second break, but thats me for u.

very interesting outro though.

kicks and percs - good, well EQed and compressed

could of done with a layer or two more though...

overall good remix
