Hello! Set you free - Collenius Mix

This was intended as an experiment on side chaining, but I liked it so decided to complete the song. It is a Collenius mix from the song Free from Ntrance. Hope you like it! If you have any suggestions, please let me know

N-Trance - Set you Free (Collenius Mix) Enjoy!

quite cheesy!

your kick should have more open end, imo!
bassline could have some more highs, too, imo!
the stringy synth sounds like kinda moskito!
vocals could use some reverb and a bit delay...
now it´s has a more powerful sound...the mainlead synth is cool! but also a bit to much layed down on the lows, mids!

quite a nice production...i guess with some work on it, it could be great! increase your highs and you´ll get an even more powerful sounding...

the original is one of my alltime favs and if i don't concern of how cheesy it sounds i think that the vocals seem to slapped on at times

what do you mean with slapped on vocals?

The high is always a sort of 'problem' with my songs. I just am a man from the low I guess... I did put more high in it, but maybee not enough?

The kick is dry and clean, made with Stomper. That could explain the lack of open end. I could try a more round 909 kick - but I like this dry, aggressive (hey you, set me FREE!)-kick a lot.

Anywayz, thanx for the feedback.

PS
Cheesy? Cheesy?! I hope not! Ferry Corsten in 98, SpecialD, Manuel Schleis; that's cheesy! This music is certainly not intended cheesy...

HEy Collenius

You've done a smashing job here! I love this - it is well produced and happy sounding. You just need some sounds from the high ends - like someone said.
AS for it being cheesy - well the original is a wee bit cheesy (never really liked it) - but I dont think your song is cheesy as in commercial cheesy.
It's good to hear a song like this that is just plain great to listen to - with no fannying about.
Love the big phat kick and bass. If you put some high ends then this song would be near perfection (for me)
THanks for sharing this
