turntable > slipmat > vinyl > vinyl .. safe?

is it safe to play one vinyl ontop of another, instead of the vinyl on the slipmat
not for the whole song or nething, just to see if u want to use the top one as the nxt track, if not u just remove it and use the original u choose
etc

my friend did it in my xmas house party and notin' happend to vinyl on the bottom eheh but if u cue it it may scratch

for quick access to tracks and samples while scratching, yes do it. it will not however do your records any good. if you are beat mixing then forget it.

I believe scratch guys do it all the time... Can't be good for the records in the long run though.

plus if the tonearm height is adjusted properly when you put two on top of each other it will be too low. not a big deal for briefly checking a record but something to consider.
