Does anyone know how to do the onside kick in this game. whenever i do it, my kicking team recovers but theres always a flag on the play and the other team gets the ball from where my kicking team recovers. Am i doing something wrong?

Yes.

you have to aim the kick out a little you have to kick it a certain distance or the kick is no good and the receiving team receives the ball.

I really can't explain to you in words how to do it, but I think try aiming it more to the side and up or down I forget, just fool around with it a bunch youll get the hang of it. The idea of the onside kick is to kick it just far enough so that it is a fair ball but close enough for you to recover the ball before they do. That is why it is so difficult.

in the NFL, the actual rule is 10 yards beyond where the kickoff starts. so since it's at the 30, you MUST kick it beyond the 40 yard line to recover it

do you know how to line up as the onside kick formation but get your kicker to kick it deep?

lol yeah i wish i could do that. on the older versions of madden, u could boom a kick with all your guys lined up onside... i always crushed the return man.

madden 2005 rules by the way. there is an option to do an onside kick...

im guessing there isnt anyway to kick it deep if you line up for the onside kick formation. maybe it would be called 'illegal formation' or something if that happened. just a guess. there are no custom plays for special teams.
