Sad but true:

Fabrizio Meoni has died of a heart attack on stage 11 of the Dakar rally. Paramedics arrived on the scene within minutes, but the Italian died at the scene. The 47-year-old KTM rider was running second overall in the motorcycle category. Meoni won the Dakar rally twice, in 2001 and 2002.

Love watching those big-arsed trucks bound over the dunes!

I have utmost respect for those bikers, gotta be one of the toughest things to do, one day would be hard enough, 14 or whatever in a row is just crazy.

Andy Caldicott was doing quite well last I saw - comes from my hometown

Yes, very sad. And yesterday a spanish driver (I can't remember his name and I'm not going to search it) died after some serious injuries he got when he felt from his motorcycle.
