On waiting to hear whether you got a job.

Im currently taking 18 hours of classes, 5 of which is a very time-demanding venture, working 35 hours a week, and yet I applied for another job working 10 more hours per week? Why? Because it's in the school computer lab, and nothing beats non-peak hour access to Mac G5s. Not only will I be able to work on my project there, but it also pays may than my other shitty service sector job.

I interviewed on Wednesday, and I think I came across pretty well. The teacher supervising my five hour project is the guy who might hire me. I also had a class with him last quarter where I got an A. Im more or less what they want (they only want someone for one quarter, and I'm graduating after this one), but my hours are pretty slim pickings. Im basically hoping they match what they're looking for, that people shied away from the job, or that they just decide my other qualities are good enough and give me one of the two positions.

I'm really not nervous, but I feel like I should be. I figure if I get the job, great, if not, i have a bit more time to be at home in what promises to be a hectic quarter.

Does anyone have any stories from times between interviews to time of hiring (or not)? Anyone ever foul up an interview and still get the job?

If anyone is interested, I got the job 14 hours a week in the lab with the potential to pick up some time here and there. This will make my final undergraduate quarter that much more hectic, but should be a great time

the jobs I want usually don't call me back for aobut 3 months. I apply at the beginning of summer and get a call as soon as school starts. I could have been making bank at the bellagio but they called me right after school started and I had a job for the past 2 months.....

how's that male gigalo bit working out anyway?

...meh...I'm quite confy w/ my job...Start my 6th year in the tube in a couple months. After application, we interviewed and were offered jobs that day...it was just how many weeks to months you had to wait for a class date....

Right now I'm trying to get a position in the Crew Resource department teaching CRM...not a big deal if I don't get it, but it would put me at home a couple extra days a month...I should hear back with in a couple weeks.

Why didnt you just quit the job and pick up the Bellagio position if it paid better?
