I was wondering what y'all thought of this mixer:



it has 3 crossfaders for fading over the bass, mid, and treble separately.

I was curious if anyone had tried it, and what they thought of it?

I also want to know if it can be used as a regular mixer, without having to worry about sliding 3 faders over everytime, can you set it so the top one fades the whole channel or something like that?

I want a mixer, I was thinking of the one in my sig, the roland DJ-2000, or maybe this one.

Interesting concept... triple cross fader.. but what if u wanted to go from one channel to the other really quickly?? i rekon the pioneer, havent tried it but they make good mixers, and alot of the KINGS use the DJM1000.... (PvD,Tiesto) so yeah.... thet would be best one i rekon....

when i saw the title of this post i was in shock!!!
i have skeched a disign for a triple cross fader but it's a bit more complicated...
i was thinking more in the lines or a cros fader that fades between 3 channeles...
i'll post it later...

i think that the one you showed is nice in theory but i would advise you to try it and see how it is...
between those two, i am currently leaning towrd the pioneer...
the red one might be nice too...
but eventuately choose the one that sutes you the most!!!

This is an awesome mixer, it's digital-so the sound quality is great, the 3 CF's are really awesome, it's really durable and very reliable.. it's an awesome mixer indeed!
But the roland dj-2000 or the pioneer djm-600 are much better.. if you can afford one of those then check out the Allen&Heath Xone-62 or the Rane MP-44... they are the best you can get in this price range.

the DJM1000? I thought there was only a DJM500 and a DJM600 from pioneer? or maybe you are talking about the Roland DJ1000?

DJ alonzo: you've tried this mixer? can you tell me a bit more about it?

like for example, do you have to slide all 3 crossfaders over every mix? or can you set just the top one to be a regular crossfader that fades the entire frequency range over?

what kind of effects does it have on it, and how do they sound?

how is the sound quality? you said it's digital so it sounds great, but my first thought is that the digital sound might not be as powerful and raw as an analog mixer would. that is why records are better than CDs or MP3s right, because analog is a rounded wave, whereas digitization is a staircased structure..

I will take a look at the Allen and Heath and Rane mixers.

I don't know what I can afford yet, all I know is that I want a nice mixer, so I won't have to upgrade, and preferably with effects and at least 3 channels, so I can mix with my computer and 2 turntables.

Do you have any idea how much these cost? They are great but if you are just starting out and still don't have decks go for something like the Vestx 3 channel mixer, great quality, and very cheap for its features. It is about £250 - £300, the Roland DJ-1000 is £400 minimum and Allen & Heath and Rane mixes start from like £400 - £500 and go up to like £1500, hope you got a good job or won the lottery!

Yes I know these are very expensive mixers I am talking about here.
I have used a DJM500 and I LOVED it, so nice..
I've also tried the DJ1000 by roland, I liked that too.
I've used some lower end 2 and 3 channel gemini, numark, and vestax mixers, I just wasn't satisfied with them, the faders felt cheap, and scratchy, and my friends say they wish they would have saved up and gotten a better one to start with..

I'm canadian, so your mention of pounds doesn't really mean much to me. I'll probably end up buying online, in american dollars.

the DJM600 is $1399, the DJM500 is $1099(suggested retail prices from pioneerprodj.com)

the roland DJ2000 is $959 (from 123dj.com)

the red triple cross fader one is $495 (from 123dj.com)

I think the Rane is out of my budget, I don't want to spend more than $1500

but somehow I think it would be a piece of crap at that price.

From what Ive been told, the difference in price between the DJM500 and 600 is not warranted. go with the 500 and buy a sampler if u want one. I mean, its like a 12 second sampler...get a real one w/ the extra 300

OR be smart and get the alan and heath xone:32. No need for a 62, I think the 32 has everything u want. It has everything I want. It sounds better than any pioneer, has sweet assed VCF filters(I NEED) and you can change the curve of you X fader too. Its a sweet deal, and is MUCH better than a DJM 500 or 600

as for the DJM600, I have heard the same thing, go for the 500.. but it's only a little bit more. it has a knob to control the wet and dry mix of the effects, which is nice I have heard.. also, it has auto beat sampling, you can grab 4, 8, 16, 32 beats of a track and loop that..

not sure how it works though, I've never tried. if it worked good, it would be worth the extra 300.

and this may sound dumb, but what is a VCF filter? voltage control filter? just guessing..

if your budget is $1500 i dont see why not to go for any of the allen and heath's mixers, on www.audiolines.com the allen & heath Xone32 is $800 while the Xone 62 is $1200 and looks far better, check'em out. i think doing all this research and deciding what to buy is one of the funnest parts, next to actually try out your newly owned equipment for the first time

these Allan and Heath mixers look.. a little overkill, I don't even understand half that stuff.

but I guess I would eventually.
