First let me just say that I am a DJ so listen to sets like a DJ but I am not an amazing one myself. I can make some really nice mixes that I like but I am not really consistant enough to do a full mix and be happy with. Just something to keep in mind as I will be really critical even though I can't consistantly do better.
Overall I think the mixing was good and I liked some of the tracks you had. A few mixes were screwy but you could tell that by listening I'm sure.
First mix: Could have been more subtle. The drop in volume was noticable, I suspect that maybe the Delerium ended before you thought it would or something.
Second mix: Good mix, I could tell the beatmatching got off slightly but you corrected without it being noticable. I don't know if you changed pitch or killed the bass but what ever it was, it worked. Solid mix and btw, No Harm rules.
Third mix: Good mix, the only thing I could say is maybe (a big maybe here) you could've brought it in a little slower (meaning quieter at first) but in the end the mixed worked. Nothing to really complain about.
Fourth mix: Beatmatching was off at first and at the begining it needed more bass from the Holden track or cut less from the QED song. Not an incredible mix.
Fifth mix: I liked Evil Nine - Cakewalk, never heard it before but i dig it. I have heard Paris & Healy - Ripped before, what a great sample in that song. Anyway, back to the mixing because we know your track selection is solid . Good mix even though I think the beat matching was slightly off at first, it sounded like the Cakewalk beat ended so you were ok. It was not a very long mix but it worked and sounded quite good.
Sixth mix: Good mix. I think I would have trimmed one of the tracks' treble a bit (probably the incoming one) because there is a lot going on up there but you still had a nice mix on your hands.
Seventh mix: Very good mix, the best so far. This is probobly because the beatmatching was right on and I really liked how you brought it in slowly. If you listened closly you could hear the faint background from Flight 643 sneaking into the other song. The only thing to improve on this mix would have been to time the phrasing so there was a little less just plain Flight 643 intro once the old track was out of the mix but I know this is tought to time and Flight 643 has a long, long intro.
Eighth mix: Quick would be one word do discribe this mix but I think it actually worked well. I am sort of conflicted because part of me says after you whip the crowd into a frenzy with a monster like Flight 643 you gotta give them something more than what you did but the other part says it sounded fine. So... whatever, a matter of opinion I guess.
Ninth mix: This worked well, I liked how it did not come in suddenly.
Tenth mix: Now this mix is now the best so far, very good and perfect beatmatching. I really like how you were able to keep the Sasha track's sounds going for so long it made it sound really good. That said I really hate this song. I love Sander K but Justin's periodic talking reminds me of something like P Ditty talking over Led Zep ("Come on!... Oh ya! Here we go!... Uh huh!... Come on, Come on!"). But great mix none the less. Does anyone know if there is a dub mix of this with no Justin T. in it?
Eleventh mix: There were some beatmatching issues with this one but it was not bad. I guess the only thing I could say is that when U Write the Rules had that short break when you were mixing and the only beat was the slightly cut bass from the other song, I would have maybe turned the old bass up a bit (or increase that tracks volume) and then cut it out right when U Write the Rules' beat comes back. The main point is to not let it keep going because it is going to be off a bit because they were not exactly matched at the begining (I would only leave both going through a break like that if I was dead certain they would still match up). Other than that the begining of the mix was very nice.
Twelveth mix: Ok no disrespect but this is the worst mix of so far. The beatmatching is was off and there is too much melody in both tracks (at least basslines). I don't know what else to say besides that I would have waited till U Write the Rules had less going on and maybe by then they would be beatmatched better.
Thirteenth mix: The incoming song was not quite beatmatched (not as off as the previous mix though) but more importantly it is too quiet. That is about it.
Fourteenth mix: Good mix. Nicely beatmatched and slowly brought in. Also a great remix .
Fifteenth mix: Good mix, I think at the very begining the beats were off but you fixed it and it sounded fine.
Last mix: You brought in Nu-NRG half a phrase too soon when the vocals of the PVD where just finishing. Other than that it was decent, maybe could have been a longer mix (maybe not if the vocals from PVD go for a long time).
