cd 5" = cd singles, 5" being the size, there are 3" ones which fit 21mins (and who is more popular in asia)

they use the term CD5" for cd SINGLES. just CD denotes that it is a full release, an entire album. on a CD5" you will probably find 1-5 remixes of the same track, while on a CD you will find 10+ different songs.
