[PROG HOUSE] Big City Nights

Been working on this for about 2 days. Its still kind of scattered all over the place, but the general idea is here.

This was a quick render, so the mastering is horrid, but it listenable.

The title doesnt really fit the track, it started out completely different, and I never bothered to changed the name.

Definatly listen to this at very high volume.

Name: Big City Nights
Genre: Progressive House
Length: 7:08 (sample)
Quality: 128 kbps
Gear: FL Studio, Reaktor 4, Soundfonts
Link: SAVE AS

Thanks for listening.

Are you surprised that I'm the first to give a reply?

I love the bassline, kinda reminds me of what Steve Porter has going these days. It is kind of scatterred, but in a good way. It needs some programming touch ups, but the sounds are there, especially that loud ass lead you have coming in at the end. I think you should bring that in the beginning and peak out in the middle as you break down. Great job as always. Didn't really expect anything less.

I seriously don't know how anyone is passing this up?

Euler is one of the best amateurs on this forum. Saying he's an amateur is quite an understatement as well. Very talented professionalism in his productions.

Don't know how I missed this! I'm loving it! That bass line definitely has lots going for it. Kinda reminds me of banco de gaia. can't wait to hear the final!

i can't really make up my mind on this tune. on the one hand it's very original, which you definitely get props for. it has a great groove and some pretty good programming. the percussion and the violin are my favorite parts.

on the other hand its just got this element of creepy weirdness that i just can't get over. the bass sorta gives me this evil circus carnival ride vibe......

there definitely is some scattered-ness that should be sorted, but otherwise a generally nice attempt. just not totally my cup of tea.

I listend to this earlier, and as i really value the production high. Strong bassline and very nice perc.

Originality is good also, but it just didn't seem to catch me in a way. You know when you listen to something and say wow.

I just felt the lack of atmosphere here.

Thats all

I think in all it's just jumbled. The sounds are there. I just really love that lead coming in at the end, its so strong. If that was built up from the beginning it would be so great. Just a little reprogramming with the already great sounds and this is sure to be an excellent tune.

oh yeah, thats's what i call a nice groove. mastering could be better, as you said, but for the quick render, it's quite good! many instruments, makes the track very interesting, it's not getting boring, that's great.

good stuff man, i especially like it after the breakdown with the driving bass and the percussion. definitely keep those bongos and stuff in there. only thing i can say not good is i think the intro is a little long i would have introduced the bass before the breakdown. of course thats just me and i like what you have done so far! i would be interested to hear it again after you fool around with it a bit more... or even do a remix of it.

anyways, keep up the good work, hopefully your still at it on this one. i know as soon as i put one track down the next day instead of polishing it up i end up just starting a new one and consequently i have about 12 unfinished first cuts... cheers
