If you want to make a mix cd created out of one file, into a mixcd with for example fourteen tracks without any gaps, you can use nero. It has something to do with cue points and stuff. For each cue point you add, nero creates a new track without a gap in between tracks. A friend of mine that knows just about anything there is to be known about the mp3 format, told me this. I've never tried it and I forgot where you can add those cue points, but I hope this helps(that is if I understood you correctly). I'm going to fiddle around a little bit with nero and see if it comes back. Then I will explain you how to do it.
