Hi!

Depends on the OS, you use.

On Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME simply open the windows explorer , right-click on the filename and choose "Rename" from the menu.
Or open a dos-prompt and type "ren anyfile.wav anyfile.bin".

On Linux change to the directory, the file you want to rename is in and type "mv anyfile.wav anyfile.bin".

Bye,
P.

On Windoze you might need to switch off the "Hide extension-name for known file-types" in the folder-preferences, in order to change the extension of WAV-files. A little Micro$oft feature to make your life easier...

Using dos-prompt is the oldest and easiest way to manage your files. At least to me it is.

Are YOU stupid?
Not everybody is a computer freak and if YOU are, think back 10 years. Did you know, where the power button of a computer is?
Additionally, to get on the internet, you needn't know, how to rename files. I don't know, how you establish a connection to your provider, but normally it functions without changing your files.

Laters,
P.

Are you stupid? This part of the forum can also be used for people that need help with different things and renaming is one of them. I am pretty sure alot of people gained knowledge from this tread if they didnt already know how to rename files. Bye
