Hi!
Depends on the OS, you use.
On Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME simply open the windows explorer , right-click on the filename and choose "Rename" from the menu.
Or open a dos-prompt and type "ren anyfile.wav anyfile.bin".
On Linux change to the directory, the file you want to rename is in and type "mv anyfile.wav anyfile.bin".
Bye,
P.

Using dos-prompt is the oldest and easiest way to manage your files. At least to me it is.

Are YOU stupid?
Not everybody is a computer freak and if YOU are, think back 10 years. Did you know, where the power button of a computer is?
Additionally, to get on the internet, you needn't know, how to rename files. I don't know, how you establish a connection to your provider, but normally it functions without changing your files.
Laters,
P.
