One of those days....

Have you ever had one of those days, when you can't mix for shit? No matter how hard, pissed and concentrated you get, you still produce crappy mixes that day.

Yeah these days happen. I had it the other day goin on.. so just crack the shits turn it all off and go masturbate or play xbox or something and its usually all better...

Then theres the times where it all mixes perfectly and you feel tops... Just think about the good times

This happens to me everyday.

just go drink a beer or 3 and relax. If I am really sucking and I really don't want to I just try to pump myself up by listening to some good sets er soemthing....along with drinking

sometimes it works, and when it doens't, just drink a few more beers and you'll be wasted and not care that you suck

on new years day i played at a friends party, everything went great, machups, 3 decks, i was in the zone. Back at their place a week later, I couldn't get two tunes in sync. very furstrating, so I just grabbed some beer and let everyone else play.

I agree with the track wise. Once you learn how to listen to the beats knowing if its too fast or not is common sense. I find Beatmatching to be the easy part. And the EQing, blending at the right time the hardest. 2 beautiful tracks can sound orgasmic put together at the right time or sound medicore if not done with the right eqing. Just my 2 cents.

+1 to this. I've just gotten to where I can get my beats spot on pretty much all the time. Now I just have days where the rest of the mixing is all jacked up. When this happens I just walk away and come back when I feel like it. Sometimes in an hour or a day, one time a week.

+2

Lately I find I play much better when I'm not sober...

And what pisses me off most is that I always seem to play my worst when I'm trying to record a set. I swear I can play a set almost pefectly, then go to record it the next day and it's a fuckin trainwreck.

I think I need to start taking my own advice more often when recording and indulge in some substances to relax and heighten creativity

oh and 3xx3r7:
from what i heard your radio set was crucial, so i'd say ur lookin pretty good on ur good days...

Yeah this happens to me sometimes, especially if I'm very tired or angry. It's pretty hard to mix when you're frustrated at yourself, even if you are trying to concentrate, you just kindda lose that flow... If that happens, I just stop and wait until the next day.
