Freaky review!!

hey guys,
I'm not sure im the best person to start this thread but im sure fastdjmp3 will make it a sticky thread

Well, here is my take on freaky....

I actually thought nivoc was spinning before max graham and someone told me it was that guy dj kal? can anyone confirm this?
If you like sona, then you would of loved freaky.....if you don't like sona and hated it for tiesto and generally think its a sweaty stink pit. Then you would have to agree that sona is by far the worst venue for an over-sold rave. max graham ruled once again. I'm not used to hearing break-beat house from him but the end parts of set resembled that very much. I only stayed til 5:45 and i heard about an hour of seb fontaine and enough to say he is a sick dj and a good surprise. I didnt know what to expect from him but like all other british djs i've heard this year (seaman, tall paul, nick warren, anthony pappa) i knew the style would be similar. My opinion on freaky was
"it was a great sona night......and the worst 514 rave i've ever been too"

its too bad, because seb fontaine and max graham deserve way better and they should only play in venues like the molson centre and cepsum etc when they play for over 5 hours back to back...I don't know how many times i say this but i'm sick of 514, yet i haven't missed an event in 2 years.....so im probably the bigger idiot.....can't someone else in this city bring in fuckin big name djs!!?!?!?! (don't even bother to reply to that if you are from psychofrogg!) and aria doesnt count cuz they leave fuckin signs on their doors when ferry corsten doesnt show up.......

relax del! hehehe
well most of what u said is true.
I had couple of laughs with max , i stayed in front of the dj booth all the time it was Fun , i even wrote him TA loves U with those Gum they used to stick those weirdo Bio-Papers.
Anyway i stayed till about 6 , the wird thing is Dj Kal was standing outside waiting inline to get in to Sona (wtf?) they really know how to respect Djs, he did play a nice set, i give it thumbs up.
As for Max , speechless!!!
Seb was ok , wasnt really sure about his style but i expected it that way. Btw, Seb is french as far as i know.
Got autographes and handshakings from both gentlemen.
Sona sux as much as Aria suck , not to forget 514:P
Dj lafleche was cool in the bar.
Oh yeah my friend was that Baby Boy in case anyone noticed!lol
I heard Paradise was almost canceled but they changed location it sucked ass.I hope Dj Happy didnt miss anything.
Thats about it

Hmmmm, well Freaky was not a rave! There's no way in hell that I'd be able to consider it one, it was just an after hours club way over packed, not suprising coming from 514.
First of all I could kind of understand having to make people wait outside because the coat check line is too large, but then maybe they should have found a way to better serve there customers, wtf, buy a ticket, wait in the cold (even if it was just 5 mins), and then 1 hour to check your coat?!? Please, that's just bullshit. Untop of that, Rocksteady didnt show up! That was one of the main things I was going to see.
This was the first time in my life that I actually spent way more time in hiphop then I did in the techno room, actually a staggering amount more in hiphop, prob. 85% hiphop/15% techno. The reason, I need room to groove. There was no room upstairs, every time I went up, I'd get stuck somewhere trying to dance, but with no chance at all of avoiding bumping into the passing crowd, it was just to annoying, especially with having an injured toe and ankle.
I stayed there untill 9 in the morning, and now it's going to take me time to recouperate, yeah I had a good time, but in the end, I would have ratherd just gotten a refund for my tickets.

Nice E,
I knew i would get the same reaction from you. What a fuckin joke it was........soo packed and too many fuckin fruitcakes rubbing next to me....fuck off and go to stereo for christ's sake. My highlight of the night was watching dj jazzy jeff play 4 old school tracks and display some of the coolest mixing and scratching techniques that i have ever seen. I am actually curious to hear how that psychofrogg party was??? while i am trashing freaky and 514, i have a feeling it was still better at sona

DJ Happy never miss anything lol, Around 1h15 I heard the bad news about Paradise, at 1h30 I was in freaky , I should have listened to 514 manager and didn t refunds my ticket
Anyway I had a great time @ sona, even though it was a normal night.
No DJ impressed me and when XL started playing bily jean around noon, we decided to leave. I even met a tranceaddict that i saw also at tiesto but I don t know which one of you

That night has really turned me off a lot, and it's not that I didnt have a great time and dance my ass off, because I did, but the simple fact was that I purchased tickets to a party, with the intent of getting to enjoy hearing and seeing techno dj's spin, and I felt that I really couldn't do that, my mind kept on telling me to just stick downstairs, now for that to happen, you know there had to be something wrong. It's unfair to not give people enough room to really enjoy the music, and it's not even that everyone was dancing, but that there wasn't any spare room that I could see. Like I said, that I could see, maybe there was room by the dj booth, but when I'd come up stairs, walk'n'dance, checking shit out, I would just be bumped around way too much, and wasn't able to see a patch of open floor, so I just turned around and walked right back out, about 4 times.
The thing is, 514 doesn't have to give a fuck, with the amount of people that they piss off, and turn off from there parties, it doesn't really make a difference, because there's enough people out there, and always a some new addicts after every party.

well

well this was my first tiem at sona. (i missed tiesto cause a fucking cab driver but never mind is a long story)

anyway me and my friend we got there. and well it was ok (big lineup for the coat check, o and by the way i got my ticket that night inside so can you belive they were still selling tickets ) anyway we went to the bar cause the hip hop floor was empty at the time. well the bar was ok with dj la fleche or whatever his name is. it had a good vibe.

then it was time for max. we went upstairs and goooodddd daaaaammmmnn!
it's maybe that im mexican butn im not used to see so many guys without shirts (they looked stright not gay) rubbing themself touching themselves etc. i dont mind it but it just was weird for me. well i was in the middle dancing and i think i saw your friend Zing (well i saw a guy without shirt with the thing on his head they put to babies i dont know the name in english) and well we are dancing and this girls puts something on my nose. i think it's that stuff they use when you have a cold. that smells really fresh (same here i dotn remember the name in english but in spanish is soemthing like vick's vaporubb or something like that) anywya it was a great night but yes i really hate it when people take out their shirts. im not that much into progressive trance but after i heard this set of max damn it was incredible. i really didnt know any of his songs exept one of the remixes of tiesto suburban train and one remix he played of marc et cloude - tremble. the start of seb fontaine set was amazing that track Danny_Tenaglia_Vs_Timo_Maas-Treatment_Elements is a fantastic track to start a set. it was a good set. then nivoc came on. is he resident?? he spins really good.

overall it was a good night exept for the sweaty ppl and well i wasnt used to see so much rubbing within guys

anyway if you saw a brown skin guy 6'2 and with a beard (a lil bit long like 1 inch and a half i think) that was me like in the middle of the dancefloor.
