Got this about six weeks ago on promo. Quality track for sure! Your right, it is hard to know what genre to put it in, its one of those crossover tunes.
I actually know the guy that made the track, his name is Aaron McClelland, he owns the record shop where i buy records. He also produced the track 'Yer Man-Good Grief' and 'C-Sixty Four-On a good thing(forthcoming on Manifesto).
Quality record by a quality producer.

yeah pretty old already, heard it from a friend who Dj's a bit, very very good track imo, really funky and driving.
