Smoking ..umm..something Dance / Trance Drumloop

There was a thread from finnish guy Mr.Mystery. He showed how to make drumloop (thanks for that, it helped a lot).

Can someone make samekind of samples and tell more how he makes it and what effects he use.
forexample "I used this kick.wav and put some eq on it"(and tells what was the KHz). "The delay time for hihats was 3 and I used fruity delay2.
I think there is peoples who can't get the drumloop to work, like I can't...

I DON'T MEAN THAT PEOPLES SHOULD COPY THE PATTERN. BUT IT COULD GIVE ME AND THEM A CLUE HOW TO BUILD UP DRUMS

Anyway... hope someone understand what I mean.
Thank's if someone can help.
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!

his thread is very helpful. it should explain a lot about the drums.

anyway, the fruity kicks aren't fabulous...so probably get some new ones...try fluffing up the percussion with some hits and hats...boosting some of the high passes to get a sharper feel...

having a good drum loop is based upon the samples and the rhythm...samples you either have to find or equalize to fit better...rhythm is key..you want to fill in gaps with different instruments. rhythms come from just playing around (with a few exceptions)

uploading a sample would help

I'd love to help you guys more but as I'm only home on weekends these days I don't really have a lot of time to write lengthy articles.

I mostly used 2/16 and 4/16 stereo delays in the tutorial backed with 4/16 or 8/16 echo. When you pan the hihat elements differently along with the delays you can make 2 closed hats sound like 16 when done correctly.

Experimentation is the key here. I never have a set plan when it comes to percussions, I just go with the flow. Sure, you may learn all kinds of fancy tricks through tutorials but I've found that the best results are almost always spontaneous and sometimes even pure luck.

Yes, I ment that some uploads would be helpfull.
There is no point of this thread if everybody has different sound samples.
