i just quit,

im on day 5 now, i realy want to stop this time, smoking is a shit habbit and i regret the day i started when i was only 13. its been 8 yrs now and i think its time to give it up.

i have a bet going with a friend, so technically im not allowed to smoke otherwise i loose a fair bit of money. thats the best way to do it. if i hadnt made the bet i dont think i would have been able to stop by myself.

see its alot harder for me since ive been smoking for 10 years now.however i have done it before. but like i said i was totally psyched for it. this time im not. but i have too. and i just bought a brand new pack :P

i quit 32 days ago...my tricks:

1) i quit drinking at the same time.. considering i was a bigtime alcoholic i never once thought of smoking becuase i kept craving jack daniels

2) eat healthier.. you'll feel better & your mind will make you think its' from the smoking...

3) don't go clubbing for a few weeks..

4) think of the money you'll save... in 32 days i've saved about 320$ from smokes and close to 1200$ from drinking at the bar... my ass is going on a vacation soon

5) self discapline.. seriously now, don't be such a pussy! It's not that hard to say no...

worked for me a couple times, but eventually i end up smokin again.

I quit smoking in October after an embarassing 8 years.

No matter what smoking cesetation method you use, you need to want to do it or else it wont happen.

I highly recommend the patch. The patch makes quitting so easy.
The first 3 or 4 days are hard but if you drink allot of water and keep yourself busy over those 3 days youll be ok.

What i did was to really kill myself. To fight the weight gain, i started the atkins diet which would definately throw my body off course. So now, i cant say that anything i experience is because of smoking or dieting. My body is to confused to know whats going on.
Ive lost 20 pounds and am still a non smoker.

Zyban is not worth it IMO. Its messes with your head. I tried it for a few days but then realized i was going psyco so i stopped. Everyone reacts differently i guess.

Everyone i know who tried cold turkey was smoking within a few weeks.

Again, if you dont want to quit or your not going to help yourself quit then dont bother.

At least though, you are mentally starting your hate for smoking.
Your going to think about it for a while, then seriously consider it, then finally have enough and do it.
