This has probably been rasied many times before but here goes.

How do you guys usually start your productions? do you plan it on paper or something? or hear a riff in your head then start building the tune then eq and finalise it ?
When building the tune do you start from the first beat or start at the middle breakdown maybe and build it backwards that way?

Was just interested to learn how you people achieved the finished result

I usually just randomise synths until I get something half decent. Repeat a few times then add a beat and some hats.

I usually start by laying down some bass and percussion to get a decent beat. Then I do the intro, work on the atmosphere and go on from there…

Some people rather start their works by making the main riff, but it doesn’t work that well for me. I just get bored with it very quickly that way, for me its alot more fun to build the whole tune from start to finish, you can never know how it will eventually turn out.
