Short answer: Who gives a shit?
Long answer: The same artists (Basement Jaxx and Crystal Method especially - although no Chemical Brothers this year?) are nominated every single year on these music award shows, seemingly whether they've released anything recently or not. The judges, needless to say, have absolutely no creativity, no insight and no taste in music whatsoever. Whichever album they think is the best "dance" album released during the year is of absolutely no consequence to me - I mean, can you think of any worse insult in the world than to be considered musically on par with Britney Spears and Usher?
(Not to say that all the artists there are crap, but they hardly represent "dance music" and I can think of a million different artists - even among ones that I don't personally like - who have released much better albums than the ones presented there.)
