Tricks Of Mixing...eg:135bpm to 145bpm??

Hi djs,

Again another thing....

Some Story:
I had a gig once.. *audition... some kind of competition... selection of DJs for clubs & events with judges*

I spin Trance with 140++ BPM... So you know when it comes to Audition
many DJs with many genre.. Hip Hop, Prog House, Techno, Trance, D&B, Breaks, Tribal, Top 40, Retro Disco are all in a deck after one another... Lots of DJ before & after another.. mostly turn off their songs with tricks... nahh pity me, i got a Club House DJ before me, spinning "Modjo - Lady" ..then one of the judge told me.. "hey man, i dont want any stop of his songs... mix it i dont care how u do it..." So.. i dont want to disappoint him...
I tried to mixed a 135bpm "Modjo - Lady" with "solar stone vs scott bond - red line highway(original mix)" *ACTUALLY I TRIED THAT BEFORE, EVEN IN PRATICING*

Make that Modjo's song as "A" & the trance as "B"
SO.. this is what i do..
When it comes to the breakdown of A... i slowly switch of the bass.. & then start the B... *i start it at the intro of the song(The intro start with FX & Strings) ... if u know this song.. it will be more clear for u* Slowly i fade it.. then i make a filter effect on A to close the A then start the B with 145BPM..

Truly it sound unpleasant... sound not right or even....

So here guys.. i have tried many tricks for that nowadays, incase i meet this type of thing again....

Maybe do have any style/tricks to share with??

Thanks man..

PS: sorry for the bad grammar

Did you try to pitch the house track all the way up before you tried to match in your trance track? Personally i would of probably mixed in a progressive track and then moved into trance if I spun trance(i dont). Or you could of powered down the song at the end and slammed in the new track on beat.

No m8... the worse thing is the house track was played in a CDJ-100.. it cant be powered down.. i know what u mean.. if he spinned it on a Table, i would have done that... and that is the first time im doing such trick.. i never think of practicing it...*regret it*

so...maybe any video of such thing? i mean when DJ doing some trick of mixing such stuffs...

Or any trick that we can share?

Cheers, thanks Zild...

personaly would have pitched up the slow tune a bit and downpitched the trancey tune. then pitch the trancy tune up more when it gets going. probly the simplest way.

or just slam in the tune and god stance... seems to work for some big names out there...

when going from someone elses style to your own is never gonna be easy thats why i personaly would use the method i said because it keeps it simple but effective. After that you can use effects on your set on songs you (should) know well.
