D:Fuse, Austin, 2/11, Vue, Mini-Review

To break up all the trash-talking threads & rat-screwing pictures, here's a mini-review of the show I went to tonight.

I was on the way home from my friend's house around midnight tonight when I realized
1) I was feeling better than I had in weeks, with my flu finally receding &
2) D:Fuse was playing at Vue, which I was passing by.

Cover: $7.
Sound System: Excellent. Not as kick-ass as Element, but still, quite strong, well balanced.

Crowd: friendly. i'm really happy they moved upstairs from Sky. The entrance to Vue is off the alley by Noodle-ism, so the people there have made an effort to be there. It's much less meat-market & much more about the music.

Layout: The dance floor is about 10 feet wide & 20 feet deep, directly in front of the DJ stand. Then there's a bar area & tables to the left. Further back is a separate room with a DJ spinning softer stuff, & more couches & boothes. I like the layout--the dance floor is small enough I never felt lost, plus there's plenty of room to chill out & take a break.

D:Fuse--he's not QUITE my sound--he's more progressive than Trance. Still, I had a good time--it's nice to be healthy & out dancing. D:Fuse dug the music--I could tell he was playing the stuff he liked. Around 2 AM he played dirrrtier beats, & I shook my ass.

If this venue & DJ was in a bigger town (NYC or SF or Chicago) people would be paying double & lined up outside to get in. As is, I had a fun time dancing with people who were into the music.

In the gossip column: Many people said they were going up to Deep Dish next weekend in Dallas.

My friend said he heard that Adam FREELAND was coming to Austin next month. This news nearly made me wet myself with excitement, as I LOVEEEEEEE Freeland.
