Fragma - Toca Me [Klangzentrum's Deep Red Remix] *update*

what to say about his one?!

i always liked this fragma track (i think it´s the only good one by them) and yesterday i produced my very own remix of it...

again a "deep red remix", but it´s different to the "why" or "clear blue" remixes... so, static, dont blame me for such a crime again!

long talk, short senth...
have a listen and enjoy...

Fragma - Toca Me [Klangzentrum's Deep Red Remix] [save target as]

7.25min / 192kb/s

some feedback (+/-) is appreciated...

me like fragma
reminds me the good old times
didnt like the start.. (the string and the hihat)
the string doesnt sounds so good
and the hihat too..
those flanged clap is also sounds kinda mm.. screw my english.. not-pro?
at 1:06 things are starting to sounds much better
didnt like the clap.. bad sound & too much reverb
2:31 -
whats that weird sound? heh
also got too many reverb i think

this track got potential even thought it looks like i got only bad things to say about him lol
change some sounds and it will be much better
good luck!

it isn't better than the clear blue remix but it's ok, i like the darkish laidback approach, but then when 3minutes the lead appears it just goes mieh all of a sudden, it loses the nice touch that the build had, and then that lead, oh god, on the thing that reminds me of is the lead from lethal industry, it just feels unattached and such.

sounds like an attempt to make a cheesey epic trancer cool and progressive.

once again the hats are standard and boring... try using a house percussion loop instead..

If you're going prog on us, avoid an epic trance bassline... try the coldharbour bassline which is a deep chorus saw pad, lowpass filtered to 150hz and a bitcrusher on it at 14khz. (respectively)... or a more involved bassline other than 4/4 offbeat bassline. the pads are too low here... unless you were trying to make dark feel then it's good i guess. The reverb of the clap is too long, try shortening the reverb length or slap a gate after it.

the arp at 5:40 is too loud and prominent in the mix... try shortening the envolope of the synth, turn the synth down too... notice the original it's just to help you get along the track.. not really the main lead.

the ending is really cheesey,, since it just has that cheesey epic trance bassline which doesn't really belong here since this isn't an epic trance remix... and the cheesey 808 closed hat... which I think should be replaced with a house percussion loop.

listening..

starts up pretty dark.. like it.. hard firm kick.. not very big fan of the bass and melody there, starts too sudden and dont feel the bass fits as it should.. cool drive in the percussions and effects.. enjoy the dark strings in the break.. wouldnt excpect an euro riff in between it.. but its Toca Me alright.. the Toca lead sounds could have been a bit cleaner imo.. some hidden sounds there.. thats cool.. seems the arrangement and stuff was done in a little hurry though..

like the dark approach, would have added some more elements in it though..

Hey Lars,

I like what you've done here. Your main lead has nice texture to it.

I think the bass is a little simple for the style you are going for.

Otherwise, I enjoyed it - I haven't heard that melody in a long time, it was nice to hear it again!

I agree this one is quite different
the elements here i like best are the kick, and the pluck synth in the buildup.
On the other hand i'm not too keen with this low-pad playing in the beginning and all along the track, i think it's quite boring and doesn't add to the beauty of the track.
the melodies are very cute as always

goodie jobbie !

Dont like the pluck sound, and the notes you chose for the bassline, but everything else is top notch.

*update*

what was done:
- added a bongo-loop
- added a new sound in the break
- changed the lead-guitar a bit
- different bass pattern
- removed the fade out of the bass pattern
- changed the clap-sample
- reduced the amp of the harp

i guess this will be the final version...i like it the way it is!

so enjoy listening! - the link is still the same as in the first post!

feedback is still appreciated...

Downloading/listening.
The intro is interesting, has a darky and enimagtic feeling, that clap u are using at 1:30 does not like me,sounds to filtered imo. That part at 2:20,u could did more with it,sounds kinda simple with just that synth the choirs and the piano or pluged thing.
In overall it is not bad at all,but sounds more like a soundtrack for a mummy movie movie for me than a Trance track :P,but has some really cool parts.
Kopi =o.
