Two MDMA related articles in the Guardian from yesterday.

Staying in topic with some recent posts, I found this interesting.

Nothing. Although drug use and trance are certainly not mutually exclusive...

And as I said at the beginning of the post, I'm merely following a recent theme in this forum, and I think these articles have some relevance.

Looking forward to the Web Chat with Psychedelics Researcher Dr. Sasha Shulgin on Feb 22nd.

The second article is actually about American soldiers that will be getting MDMA treatment to help free them of flashbacks and recurring nightmares acquired from fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Also MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) has embarked on a $5 million, 5-year Clinical Plan to make MDMA into a prescription medicine for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. The FDA has approved this research!

you would never be able to publish the stuff in the current US tho. the only journals that would accept this would be European ones and no one reads those.

I would really like this and Nature or Science (the two top rated scientific journals in the world).

and even if FDA has approved it, i doubt it will happen. the administration has final say.

The existing drug-assisted therapy sessions last up to eight hours, during music is played. The patients swallow a capsule containing a placebo or 125mg of MDMA - about the same or a little more than a typical ecstasy tablet.

hee hee, i found this funny.

why play music? make it seem more like a sketchy study.

Because music and MDMA create a synergy like no other!
