hey...

too many melodic sounds going on here... bass sounds a little too much out in the mix, although the progression is nice..

break... the break sounds really nice the in the start.. melody is nice... but still i think u threw in too many melodies at one time there.. cant really tell what is the main lead..

otherwise it sounds good.. pherhaps a phat open hat on top there would be good

I actually find my opinions to be exactly opposite of kopi_luwak's opinions

I found there to be many interesting elements going on within the track and the elements seemed to suit well. There is no single catchy melody but that is what a lot of progressive sounds like or is supposed to sound like. The stereo field is well represented and sounds are coming from different sides. The feel of this track is hypnotic and there is great atmosphere.

I didn't actually like the mastering... wait.. i mean the mixing. I found the leads and pads to have too much treble in them. It seems like you completely EQed away the lower end of it. Try not completely eliminating the lower end, but rather reduce instead of cutting. I also found the bass to be weak and does not stand out in the mix at all. The kick is also not punchy enough and has that trailing bass following it that lasts too long and is muddying it up a bit. Finally, with the overall mix, there is an absence of the mid frequencies. Work on these things and you'll have a good mix.

cheers

right off, bass needs some phattening up, a good basswave would carry this track into new dimensions.

lots of elements are out of sync, the hihats are confusing, the bass/kick doesn't seem to be right, and its melody heavy. reconsider your use of melody, too much of it bores..

breakdown is nice tho!

cheers!

hey m8
i have to agree with kewlness, some mastering issues, but to me most importantly, its really mixed up, all the melodies, its like theres 4 melodies at the same volume, u need to chose a main melody (its ok i had the same problems before, i still do sometimes )
so ya, just find a main melody and some eqz'ing, but still very nice melody overall
keep it up m8

there's isnt any main melody right, but there's 2 melodies which i thought, should glue the whole thing together, + there's also a pad melody

yea man, there's defintely waay too much going on. it sounds fine until the synth at :30 comes in, then its just too cluttered and that synth doesn't really add much. don't necessarily delete it, just dont use it together with everything else.

sounds pretty good so far tho.

any progress on that 'BluStorm' mix??

Hey Pete,

I like this style of trance a lot... I think the bass is pretty cool, but it needs a bit of a boost to stand out a little more.

I love the panned hi hats.. very cool effect. Lots of tasty percs and fx in this toon.

Overall, you've done some fine work here.. maybe a little variation on the melodies would be nice.

Nice job creating drive and energy - looking forward to hearing more,
Trev

This is cool... I think the kick could need more punch.. trying layering a kick on the one you already have...

There's too many melodies going on at once... I dono what's up with TA producers and their competition to be have the most complex trance track ever.. Is there an award you are trying to win for most melodies in a track? Is Sunquest your main competition for that award?

I think this track has a lot of potential if some all of the melodies were distributed properly in proper sections in the track for more variety.

The breakdown is awesome dude... I love it..

I love the pads too... they make great ambience to the track!!

This track has a lot of potential! All the melodies are good but they don't need to be playing all at once.

thanks Gerry

im glad you like it, btw, how you mean changing the structure? use the melodies in different places and not together?

btw, you're right, a Sunquest vs. Peter Safranyos collab track would have the most complex melodies ever...
