Yay for Eurodance! Some of the mixes even sound like The KLF. Discuss.
Of course they sound like The KLF. Phil Wilde and Jean-Paul de Coaster friggin' ripped them off.
However, they ripped them off admirably and created quite possibly one of the most influential EDM acts in history. How so? They probably brought more people into the fold than any other act to date (heck, I'm one of them ).
These guys were pop producers of the greatest calibre. So many of their biggest hits had riffs and hooks that were instantly lodged into your head with their catchyness. But if you dig deeper into those songs, you'll also notice a lot of other wonderful little things going on to help fill out the songs. Check out that little acid worble go left to right in Tribal Dance, for instance, or making such a horrible sound in Workaholic actually work as a pop song. Let's see Lasgo do that! And let's talk about drum programming as well. These guys knew how to make some of the most pumping rhythms of any Eurodance act.
Okay, I'll stop now.
