Smoking ..umm..something Sunset On Hudson

astral energy - sunset on hudson

I produced a track inspired by those beautiful sunsets driving back to new jersey from new york on a long night of partying. West side highway , weehawken wherever you are the sunset on hudson is a beauty. I built this melody and thought wow, it sounds the way i felt while driving back form paul van dyk @ roxy and seeing the sunset on hudson. So here we are with a tech/trance influenced uplifting trance track, with breaks and a nice melody.. Made this a while ago, deciding to post it now dont know why. Feedback is appreciated and dont get too critical or youll break my heart.

Nice tune

I just gave your tune a first listen and here's what I have to say:

1) I love the synth.

2) I feel like it needs a longer intro and you should add an outro similar to the intro in order to make it DJ friendly.

3) It is filled with energy from beginning to end but I feel that it could use some more buildups and releases. The one you create at around the 4:34 mark can be improved my making the silence enter more gradually.

Keep up the good work. Polish your track and post it again when it's finished. I kow I'd like to give it another listen.

sounding good, i'm digging this track. simple but high intensity all the way through. i would even put this on a CDR and play it one time in my mix on thursdays at lovetheweekend.com i try to feature a couple promo tracks from artists here every now and then (with permission, of course!)

only thing that needs work is the outro, as said above make it a little more DJ friendly, take out the lead and leave the bass and the kick and then just the kick for about 16 bars or something like that, i'm sure you know what i mean... or did you specifically make it like that as a promo?

keep working on it, it is sounding ace. and hit me up if you fix up the ending at all, i'd luv to give it a playlisting one time

I like bass on the track, and can't really complain about anything here, you've made this track very well. Maybe a touch more reverb on some of those synths?

I like the phasing / flanging effect you have used on some of the strings. I've noticed that not many songs are using this effect much now, certainly not in a good way anyhow, but I like what you have done. Keep it up!

hey man!

i didn't even see this thread until just now... d/ling now...

listening....

damn.. i really like this... just wondering where are u getting that flanging sound from? part of the synth u used or was it added on top?

i agree with all the replies, this is has a simple melody but its very powerful and has a great deal of intensity. but also a couple more tension builders and releases would make definitely make it pretty hot. this definitely has a much more energetic feel than your alt-f4 remix. keep me updated if u have a full version... i'd like to possibly use it in a set. keep up the good work!

thanks for the kind replies, Im glad you guys enjoyed it. Um that flanging noise is from a phaser on top of the instrument.
