Read This!

I've read like the whole entire book (hehe) about what the best mixer is. Now I'm looking for a new one, but I want something different from Pioneer. I was looking at some Vestax stuff i.e. PMC 25, PMC 46 II, the good stuff. Now i've been Djing for about 4 years now so price isn't really an issue. Besides the Vestax, I've been thinking about taking the plunge and just going with a Urei mixer, the grandaddy of Alllll mixers. I need some input. Here are some of the specs the mixer needs to have:

1. at least 3 channels
2. rotary knobs may be helpful
3. good output..can handle highs AND lows well. i need more bass people!
4. equilizer not neccessary

Thats about it. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it!

Wow, finally somebodylized that Pioneer mixers are toys ... hehe =). If you are looking for a high-quality DJ mixer, you might want to check out the Allen & Heath xone series www.xone.co.uk. It doesn't have rotaries though, but from what I've heard it sounds AMAZING.

And just out of curiosity, why do you say that EQ isn't necessary ? You are looking for a DJ mixer, not a studio mixer, right ? I figured you might be using a separate EQ ... But yeah, Urei is a CRAZY mixer if you can find one =)

peace

Talking about the one in the highest price range, I would suggest RANE mixers with rotaries... They are quite difficult to deal with though.

The other one is the unreasonably overseen Roland DJ 2000. That mixer is really great. Costs about $1400 and has a much better SFX processor, then DJM-500/600.

Also, Judge Jules talks on his site about Fortune Sound systems, which are very expensive, but are probably the REALLY best mixers in the world (talking about the quality)... For example, the famous Gatecrasher (the best club?) has them.

Question vestax

vestax have great turntables (with fu*king design :/), but mixers are very wrong... i dont know wheres the prob, but i wasnt able to create even a good mix with them, sometimes i think they are oversensitive, and sometimes its opposite . i wouldnt choose them if i were you.
