TOTALLY BLEW US AWAY!
OHMYGOD! And that's an understatement! Tiesto TOTALLY blew GLOW! away this morning... he span an AMAZING set! I was kinda skeptical given that I've heard him twice already this year and he played similar stuff both times (Limelight and World in NYC). But man, he didn't dissapoint. Mind you, I have to say that Noel Sangers drum'n'bass style just didn't do it for me, or my gf and a couple of friends of mine. We all agreed it lacked melody, but I guess that was the point :-) Tiesto got on at 1:38am and unfortunately, due to the late night before and friends being tired, we left a little before 3am. He had the club totally jumping from the outset - it's a shame there wasn't much room to totally let go on the dancefloor but Tiesto is a headliner, so what did I expect? :-) Wish I'd got there later and stayed later, but there ya go! Tiesto threw it down, and threw it down HARD! He was clearly enjoying himself and loves what he does - does anyone know if PVD turned up after Radiate to experience the vibe?
Peace out until next time!

Greatest Set
I have been going to clubs and listening to DJ sets for quite a while now, and I've never felt like I did last night...
Went to Radiate to see Scott Henry and Paul van Dyk at around 8 pm, left at around 1:45 to go to Glow.
Now, Paul van Dyk was extremely good, great DJ skills, he was always doing something with the decks trying to tweak the song this way and that. He played alot of tracks from Politics of Dancing:
Connector - Interference
Ralphie B - Massive
Mirco de Govia - Epic Monolith
Iio - Rapture (Paul van Dyk rework?)
Paul van Dyk - Vega
---
Paul van Dyk - Another Way
Paul van Dyk - Pikes
Aeon - Masterpiece of Emotion
etc.
He didn't interact with the crowd that much, but that's just his style, he's more of the smooth/cool type of guy that tries not to show emotion, but you could tell he was having a great time. Overall I thought he was really good.
Tiesto.... tiesto tiesto, what can I say? The best DJ set I've ever heard, hands down. Yes his mixing was good, no trainwrecks at all, but the tracklist, OMG. One thing I need to say first, some trance listeners like hearing NEW and FRESH tracks and promos when they go to see a DJ, but I LOVE to hear the CLASSICS at a club, it's a different feeling. Tiesto is truly an ENTERTAINER, he LOVES his FANS! I think it's great to see the DJ dancing to his music, moving his head to the beat, singing to the lyrics, dancing and spinning around, pumping up the crowd, all with a huge smile on his face. I never expected him to be this good, last night has just turned him into my favorite DJ.
I requested two songs during the night, he might've played them anyways, but both times I showed him the name of the track, written on a cellphone, he smiled both times and gave a thumbs up, he played both of them. I asked him to play Cloudwalking, and he did as the 2nd to last song, incredible.
Songs played by Tiesto:
Hooligan - Hear you Now (Grandchillas Remix)
Iio - Rapture (Neither the AvB nor Riva remix, not sure which it was)
Salt Tank - Eugina (Michael Woods Remix) -- FOLLOWED BY -- Rank 1 - Airwave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the best moment of the night.
4 Strings - Into the Night
Mirco de Govia - Epic Monolith
Dj Tiesto - Urban Train (COSMIC GATE REMIX)
Delerium - Silence (Dj Tiesto Remix) --Incredible--
Kosheen vs Dj Tiesto - Hidden Flight
Insigma - Open your Eyes (Original/Insigma Mix)
Cj Bolland - The Prophet (Holy shit this one tore down the club)
Green Martian - Industry
Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Mix)
Pulser - Cloudwalking
Jan Johnston - Flesh (DJ Tiesto Remix)
Dj Tiesto - Magik Journey
The whole audience was clapping, hands in the air, dancing, singing to the music, the energy at Glow was tremendous. Hearing Tiesto spin is a one-of-a-kind experience, because most other DJs do not spin classics like he does, and most other DJs can't spin classics. It was incredible to hear these tracks at a club. He stayed a while after he finished the set to sign autographs, throwing autographed flyers out into the audience. I was lucky he signed my Magik CD. Paul van Dyk and Tiesto, I don't expect such a great night to come around again any time soon, but it was more than worth it.
It was great meeting Twilogoddess at the end of the night, you NY people need to come down and visit DC more often! Gotta warn you though, DC clubbers aren't as Hard-Core as NY peeps, I think we can manage though

if you ask me, tiesto blew pvd completely away
dont get me wrong, pvd's set was good, but in my opinion it wasn't as good as most of the sets i've heard him spin recently. it seemed like pvd was all over the board when he was spinning. he played some songs that got me really hyped up (pvd-another way, second sun-empire, king of clubs-revelation (airwave remix)), but his set didn't seem to build a lot of energy. like he would spin a really good track, but not follow it with another really good track.
he also doesn't seem to interact with the crowd at all. there was a rare occasion when pvd would look up into the crowd, but then like 1 second later he would go back to what he was doing. and i only saw him smile like 4 times throughout the night. didn't really seem like he was having a good time.
after pvd finished up, we went directly to glow to hear tiesto. omfg, definitely the best set i've heard in a long time. he just kept dropping amazing song after amazing song. i've never seen a crowd blow up so much. and it was great seeing tiesto interact with the crowd: dancing around the dj booth, acting like he was playing a violin, etc) he's such a great showman, and he had a smile on his face the ENTIRE time he was spinning.

Haha that was you Ibiza? I was the short kid, with the number 21 on the back of my shirt, that came up to you and asked you what song you requested and then i said something like holy shit i was dying to hear that exact same song. Anyway I was front row towards the right. Hehe I also managed to get an autographed vinyl of silence which was amazing. I woulda preferred Urban Train but it's not like I'm complaining or anything!! Hey Twilo was your cousin the girl directly to the right of me that I asked whether she got the same vinyl as I did? Hmmm mebe you wouldn't know.
Oh btw Tiesto's set was off the hook. Definetely as good as the last two times I saw him in Toronto which made the 6 hour drives all worth it in the end. Even if his tracklisting were to be complete crap, his skills on the mixer and the way he totally interacts with the crowd makes his sets unbelievable. Still is and always will be my number one favorite DJ
