Buying a long cable to connect amp to line in on sound card?
Hi guys,
I currently have a cable going from my amplifier to the line in of my sound card so when I play a record I can hear it on my pc and can record it or whatever. However, the cable I have is about 1metre long and I need to get one thats 2metres, where can I buy one online, preferably UK? and what is the correct title of the lead I am talking about? there are 2 connectors at one end that go in the amplifier or back of the mixer and the other end has one connector that goes in the line in.
Thanks guys,

You want RCA plugs at one end and stereo mini jack (1/8") at the other.

why would you want to amplify a signal and run it to your sound card??? you'll overload the sound card's input!!
you just need to run a cable from the mixer's tape/record out to your computer's sound card line in/mic in. Thtat way, it's a line level connection the entire time.

Isn't that the way it's supposed to be done? You could also use your mixers line-out/recording output, but I think that would be the same output as the line-out on your amp...

I would drop into a Richer Sounds store mate - they have pretty much all teh types of cable you will need.
I think they sell up to 10 meters of some stuff......shuld be more than enough to handle your requests.
