Well the overuse of garish 70s fashion and the fact that we're more tolerant to violence nowadays making scenes in the film less shocking certainly dates the film, but thats to be expected.
How else is it dated?

As an art type film i think its clever

i love it, the script is second to none, the performances are all briliant, and the characters are realkly interesying as well. i dont think its overrated at all. such a different film.

Maybe my problem was reading the book first. I loved the langauge in the book. I feel the film is boring and the intense detail of the book is missing.

But fair enough, you enjoyed it. Wasnt trying to criticise, if anyone could have adapted the screenplay well its Krubrick, and I'm a big fan. Just this movie doesnt do it for me.

so i watched it for the 1st time ever last night, but i'm not entierly sure about what the whole point of the film was...

Am i correct in thinkning that its mainly to do with politics?

It was a good movie, i can see why it was banned when it came out, but its just not that shocking nowadays which shows how society has "progressed" if that is even the right sort of word
