Unhappy Is there a big difference between trance dj's?

Is there any difference? Especially between ferry, armin and tiesto? From a musical point of view i can't hear much difference. Are their playlists not quite similar to each other?

Well what is the difference between rock or pop or alternative or rap or... groups?

Differences

They all play Trance but IMO they all play a slightly different style of Trance. While Ferry's is more refined, Tiesto's is sometimes a bit harder, and Armin is right in between them.

maybe if you werent so narrow minded and realised there wasnt only 3 djs in the whole world you would see there are many different djs playing "trance".

Uh - He is not stating there are only 3 DJs in the whole world nor is he disputing the fact that there are many different DJs playing trance - he just wants to know what is the main difference between them if (to him) the ones listed (Ferry,Armin,Tiesto) have similarities in the tracks they play.

Get off your high horse.

hmmmm...well...i can see a difference between ferry, armin, and tiesto...sometimes they will play similar tracks, but for the most part they play different stuff and go for a slight different feel...

Ah good to see some authority in this forum finally, greetz Swamper
I would say sure there is difference, you only need to listen to a typical set from each and you'll know it.

I think here comes that part in where it comes to who gets his hands first on the whitelabels/promo('s).

But if you look to own productions I think almost everybody on this board can ID if a tune is from T,A or F. Tiesto for his bassline, Ferry for the pinch of tech in his style and armin is the more melodic uplifting guy.

Cheers
