how long does it take to flaten vinyl???

searched...couldnt find anything...

anyways...simple question, im sure somebody's done this before. picked up some wax, ended up getting a little bend in my bag, nothing too major. record plays fine. but want to flaten it out so it isnt so "l;jksaf;lakjsdf" when i spin it. btw...i put the vinyl on a desk with a decently heavy text book on top of it.

i had plastic boy - live another life flattening under a very heavy flat pack kitchen worktop, it took roughly 2 months to flatten (not 100%) but it plays perfectly, just be patient. im sure you can do without that one record for a while
good luck

honnestly, the bumps never fully go away under the weight...they smoothen it out though pretty good...
Apparently a little heat will do the trick, i mean very little, with alot of pressur but becarefull not to put to much or else youl wreck the tracks on the record.

And always make sure the pressure is even throughout the record and not just on one area.

if its not broke ... dont fix it !!

seriously though, i had a good beat slayers tune that wasnt playable, it was seriously fuckd, i put it in a basin of warm/hot (NOT BOILING!!!) water for about 10-20 seconds (you will feel it starting to go flimsy). Then i just stuck it ontop of a hardwood chess board and sat my 300watt (20Kg i think ) speaker ontop of it and left it there for about an hour and it was more or less perfect.

works like a wet dream

I think I'll try this method, it may work for one of mine....

BTW These are some awesome tracks, I picked these up a week or so ago..
1. Juliet - Avalon [Jacques lu Cont remix]
2. Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink [Holden Techno Tool]

some people on this forum have mentioned putting the offended vinyl in between two slabs of glass, placing in oven at a low temperature and waiting, then opening it up and letting it cool. supposed to work good. search for it, as you may want the specifics not to overcook your vinyl...

yeah theyr excellent tracks

one other thing i didnt mention was that my speakers are covered in a kind of material shit, kinda soft and fluffy! i think that helped it, puting something hard on top of the record would propably fuck it up.
