Hello everybody. I was wondering if it was ok to use gozilla with the livesets download page.

This is the first time I have tried to use it and my browser is becoming unresponsive with a RHC and download wiht gozilla.
After all the years of saving as... my XP pro and poor old IBM are not getting along and tend to freeze. hence I thought a gozilla might help for resume.

I ask because there is no mention of it on the livesets page while the singles page suggests its use.

The last thing I want is to get banned. so I am wary.

Any suggestions are valued...

anyway, to answer ur q...rhc *should* work, i mean it seems to work for everyone else here (i guess)
but gozilla i think should be okay, only flashget, download accelerator & mass downloader aren't supposed to be used afaik

GetRights and Go!Zillas are allowed, its just DAPS and accel's that screw up servers that arnt, mind you, i still dont no how to get my GetRight to work with them

edit if this color looks crap too, thats it, ill be like everyone else

I think although it asks u not 2 use Flashget, DAP & mass downloader etc. that you can use em. The reason its asking u not 2 use those programs is because by default they download files in multiple 'streams'/connections so if u set it to just 1 connection/stream then i don't think the TA webmaster will mind.

So anyway, i think u can use ANY dl program so long as it only uses a SINGLE connection to the server. I could be wrong tho..

Depending on the server you connect to it could be setup to only accept 1 simultaneous connection per IP.

Also while some download accelerator programs attempt to mask the 'user-agent' in an attempt to thwart mechanisms that are put in place to stop them, my servers will still stop them. This is built into apache but for other web servers I use (webfs/thttpd) I made custom modules to handle multiple connections from the same IP and to reject the vast majority of them...

And for those that don't mask the 'user-agent' they're redirected and not allowed to even attempt the transfer.
