Smoking ..umm..something

Just got back from a bit of a cd shopping spree.

A cd store was having a "moving premises sale" Up to 50% off,
so wandered along to see what they had on offer, since they had a pretty decent trance section, but didn't expect it to be on sale. Lo and behold 20% off all trance / dance.

So, picked up:

1) Life is a Remix: DJ Taucher
Listening to it now - so far awesome. Does anybody know when it was released?

2) Clubber's Guide to Germany: DJ Taucher & Knee Deep Bros.

3) To Trance THE ANTHOLOGY: Distance.

Haven't listened to the last 2 yet, but the Distance stuff is generally high quality & the Clubber's guide seemed to have a fairly decent tracklisting & Taucher's name. So why not??

What do you think of my purchases, waste of cash ????

Well I dont know about the other 2 that you purchased but as far as clubbers guide to germany, the 1 mixed by Dj Taucher is a very good cd. No as good as Dj Taucher Live At Webster Hall Cd but it is still good for the money. Now the really good stuff that was made by Taucher that you should pick up are "The Trance Cowboys" which is George Acosta and Taucher 2-gether. The releases that I know of so far are Be free and Sea Me (there's also 1 called The Stars but I am not sure how old that is), well anywayz Be free and Sea Me we both released in late 2000. So check those out.

"Life is a Remix" is an awesome album! I bought it around March 1999 (give or take a month), but it might have been out for a long time by then?!?

He used to spin very dreamy, yet somewhat hard, trance. Nowadays he's gon somewhat harder. His co-producer Torsten Stenzel is also producing for DJ Sakin & Friends, York and a lot of other projects that sound somewhat similar. The Taucher sound is i little like this, with the added madness of DJ Taucher himself. If you want you could go looking for his remixes of Sosa "The Wave", Marc Et Claude "La" and C.M. "Dream Universe" (all of them happens to be at the "Life is.."-album), which defines his style pretty well I think.

Now had the chance of listening to the "Life is a .."
cds - really really nice - great variety. Pity it wasn't a mixed album, but can't complain.

I'll listen to the MoS tomorrow perhaps.

oh yes Taucher ...

I saw him many times spinning here in Germany...I must admit that in the beginning he was much better than these Days. He became to commercial (Big Brother live Gig, Trance Allstars and so on....). His Tunes and Remixes were legendary, good Trance Productions !! I got some live Sets I recorded at local Radio Stations, they are good. He also brang out some good Compilations on Talla 2XLC's Technoclub Compilation !! He is (or was ??) very popular in the UK (Gatecrasher) because he's making a real Show when me mixes, climbs up the Ceiling and hangs his legs to a bar, then he mixes with the Head down...I think the only DJ in the World that pleases the Crowd like that !!

Taucher is one of a kind. Crazy like hell, and every production is unique (and therefore I like that his albums aren't mixed - which killed both Picottos and Maas albums). He is one of the few DJs left after the world and his dog went epic-mad. Long live Taucher!
