Im looking for 1 gig of ram, for a good price (not futureshop price)
most likely itll be 2 512 pieces since thats cheaper than a 1 gig piece...
so please help me out those of u who can...
thanks in advance
Don't shoot down futureshop immediately. A couple years ago, I was looking for 256MB of SDRAM but I needed it spread out on 2 different chips to fit on my motherboard. The stupid salesperson told me their RAM was on sale, but he got confused when I asked him about putting it on 2 seperate chips and instead essentially gave me 2 256 MB chips for half the price of one. RAM at 75% off! I did have to trade those chips somewhere else to make it useful for my archaic computer, but I still walked away with the equivalent cost of 256MB in cash.

It depends what kind of RAM you want, what use it will have as well buddy. If you want performance RAM, I'd say OCZ is @ the top of the game in that department. For extreme gaming go with Corsair. I hope that helps
I used that Kingston Memory and got similar Overclocking speeds as OCZ memory at 3x that price.
Make sure they are a matched pair and are NON-ECC (non registered) or your motherboard may not like the dimms.
Then if your board has 4 slots and supports Dual Channel Memory you must put them in slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.
Then your rockin!!!

I haven't overclocked my memory yet but I have a dual channel setup, 1GB and it's been flying for some time now Crucial is OK but it's not close to OCZ, Corsair or Kingston. I don't trust those little brand name companies, they just don't suit me
Canada Computers: two thumbs up. I buy all my components there.
Kingston memory: generally pretty good, and you prob won't find a cheaper price than that. Go for it. Do you have a dual-channel MOBO?
