Line vs CD?

Well I've got a new mixer, Ecler SMAC Pro30
It's a 3 channel mixer and looks like this

=======================================
Ch1: Line & Phono
Ch2: CD & Phono
Ch3: CD & Phono
=======================================

I have CD decks. The volume that comes from Ch1(line) is much louder than the volume that comes out from either Ch2/3 (CD). Btw this is when the gains are set to equal.

When I use Ch2 and Ch3 (both CD) the volumes are the same.

My question: are all line inputs louder than CD inputs, or is mine not functioning properly.

Thanks guys

I have this problem on my shitty Behringer too, the inputs for the CDs are much much more quiet then the ones for my turntables.
It almost feels like the mixer has a cap over the sound.

It's not a problem, it's supposed to do that. That's the one thing I don't like about Eclers(they're sweet mixers except for this one feature), they have two different kind of line inputs, low level lines and high level lines. I like it when it's all uniform so if you happen to have 3 CD decks with the mixer you have for some reason, they all work the same with gains.

For the time being its working alright since I've got my laptop with traktor on Ch1, which is naturally too soft, so the extra volume from loud bbalances it out to make it about equal with my cd decks on Ch2 and Ch3
