Hello All, this is my first post here on 'DJ Booth' and hopefully not the last since the fact i'm going to buy an equipment very soon.
But, i'm still stuck on the matter of headphones...
I live in Israel and as u know the prices are very expensive here due to high customs...but lets get down to business.

Recently, I have bumped into an exact imitation of the pioneer HDJ-1000 headphone.. it's called OKAY DJ-9200...

Despite the fact that the technical specifications are pretty similar to the HDJ-1000, I'm still in doubt that if this headphones are worthwhile...
Can u help me choose? i'm in a dilemma between these two
Okay DJ-9200 Vs. Stanton DJ Pro-3000

i would be very glad to hear from people that actually used those okay headphones (i found no reviews over the entire internet)...

don't bother with these..

With a Buy It Now price of $10 US, you're just wasting your money. When Behringer came out with their cool looking DJ headphones for $20 i fell into the trap and bought a pair.. i used 'em for about a minute before handing them off to a younger sibling. These pioneer imitations will sound like crap and most liekly blow with any serious wattage going through them.

You're much better off with the Stanton3000s, although they'll cost you a lot more. A headphone that is very popular in this forum is teh Sennheiser HD 280 PRO (talk to gluegun about it)

Look...look don't judge it for the worse just because it's an imitation...of course it's no the real thing but hey, who said it's bad???
Concerning to the price i can say that here in Israel it costs almost as the Stanton's headphones(500 shekels, whlie the stanton's costs 600 shekels)...

beside, i heard from a lot of people that the stanton's are very gentle and that they crack fast...
therefore i'm still having doubts which one of the two should i buy, and it will be very helpfull if people will provide me with more information that will help me decide what to buy...

Well I dunno what there like, but if there cheap (dunno what your currency is like) then I dunno if they would last, my buddy had those top new Behringers, he blew them about 4 hours later, you could check out the Sony MDR500s, there not the greatest but there still pretty good if your just gonna be spinning at home, also check to see how much the Sony V6s are, there not to expensive and are actually cheap considering the quality of them.

The stanton DJ Pro 3000s do crack easily, I'd stay away from them if I were you.
I'm even thinking the one below the DJ Pro 3000 might crack less easily than the DJ Pro 3000, seeing as mine cracked badly after not even 1 month's use.

yeah dude, i agree with you.

i really hated my stanton dj pro 3000, it's heavy, the high pass and low pass filter was useless, the stupid led lights were useless, and it was heavy, i kept on getting choked using it. and then 3 weeks after of using it, the left earpiece broke right off. useless junk... so i bought the v700 and they aren't bad...

my diagnosis, stanton is garbage, tables to cans, to cartridges!! all garbage!

Well the genuine pioneers cost loads, and they break, so i can only imagine what a 10$ replica is like....

Run away.

thats like spending $10 on a shady rolex or breitling from canal street and then complaining about it when it goes backwards.....you get what you pay for.

Not to mention they probably sound like an old gramaphone being played through a sock.

get a pair of sony MDR 7506s ($99) and be like the cat who got the cream

In life, imitations are generally much worse than the real thing. Trust me, about 10 years ago when I discovered fake watches, belts, clothes, I was like wow, i'm getting a DolceGabbana belt for $20 bucks. 2 days later the leather would crack. Same goes for watches, etc.

In the DJ industry, its even worse. Look at all the 1200-wanna be tables that were put out by companies many years ago.. They looked exactally like the 1200s, but instead had a belt drive, plastic shell etc. (I'm referring to the Gemini's and Numarks from many many years ago).

A more recent example is Behringer. They take popular items like the DJM600, change the name and put it out at a fraction of the cost.. and i'm sure anyone thats used it can attest to teh fact that its a peice of shit. So what i'm saying is that there hasn't been one example where there's been a rip-off product thats been comparable to teh real thing. So.. my advice would be to forget the looks, and go for a set of headphoens that aren't as good looking, but that will do the job better. Take a look at Sennheiser HD 280 PRO. should be pretty cheap where you are too.

I concur... the dxm700 is a piece of shit. but like everyone else has said... you get what you paid for.

well honstly ask your self this

were are your going to use them i wouldnt mind using these headphones at home for practise and my sonys 700 when i dj out so telll your self what you think you wanna do if i were you i would buy these if they were cheap to you depending on your curreny so.

OK people u convinced me... i'm not taking this headphones iven though they look great from the outside...

Is there another alternative at the same price for the stanton DJ Pro-3000???
the HD-280 are very expensive out here too...its price is twice from the stanton's...
and as for the sony 7506 i'm not familiar with those headphones...first time i hear on these...
anyone has another suggestion? i am looking for a headphone that is more or less on the same price as the stanton's...
