Re: Getting tired of progressive real fast...

This cd is probably very good for what it is, but you must look at WHAT it is: ANOTHER fucking progressive compilation.. isnt it enough that Holden, Numf, Tilt, Deep Dish, PVD, Collins, Ralph, Oakenfold, Taylor, Digweed, Sasha, and everyone else known to man is spinning progressive now, and putting out progressive 2 diskers?? Some of these are good, but I'm getting so tired of dark, depressing and driving progressive.. it seems the only ppl with a little bit of life in their sets these days are Jules and Hennes & Cold.. even Tiesto is changing to accomodate.. Now the Tranceport series is coming out with a new installment that's even DARKER and MORE depressing than Transport 4 was, despite its technical brilliance... The way I see it trance has 'progressed' into boringness, and i hope someone will shed a light of sanity soon. |
I just want to say that I agree with ambrus07 100%, he's exactly right.
The world these days is filled with a lot of dark progressive CRAP and all the DJ's think it's "cool" to follow this [not very exciting] trend.
I don't want to diss prog as a genre, I'm sure it has its good sides, but when there's so MUCH of it and the uplifting DJ's like Tiesto and PvD JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON (this expression fits perfectly -- so much for PVD's opinion that he is a trendsetter ) that is more than unnerving.
If these uplifting DJ's honestly think that they're the doing music justice by jumping on the progressive bandwagon, they're wrong...
As for Tran(S/CE)port -- I never liked this series, not even Oakenfold's original Tranceport.
