Question

Got a little question for all you dj's. I want to buy a portable minidisk recorder and I just wanted to know if it's possible to record a whole mix to a minidisk and divide it somehow into separate songs so I could later convert it to a cd and instead of one big song on a cd I could have separate songs just like you see on mixed cd's by famous djs?

Thanks

P.S. whoever is in charge I just have to say that this site rocks! Nice job.

Hey
Yeah you can
Just get a RCA to 3.5mm cable
Hook up the RCA to mixer, 3.5mm to MD Line In.
YOu gotta have a recordable MD player (Duh)..
And you can split up the mix into seperate tracks on the MD player.
I dunno if all MD's have teh "Track Marking" featuer but my SOny MZR55 does (it's old).
anyhow
hope it helps.
and i don't know hwo to record the MD onto CD unless you hook up the output from your MD to the line in on your soundcard and record a MP3 for every single track then burn it...
that's all i can think of..
cya

Hiya
Just add something here. I find the Sony Minidisc players have one of the lowerest volume setting. So what I do is that I would either hook up my mixer or an amp to the Line-in of your soundcard and use SoundForge to edit and divide the tracks. The CD Architect add-on for SoundForge is great to make a mix CD.

ummm best way would be to get a hifi with a built in MD player.. well thats what i got, and the mixer goes straight through the hi-fi, and gets recorded like that.. and i can divide them as i mix by touching the lil pad on the hi-fi.. portable players should have the line coming from the Low frequency output of the mixer if u have low and high..
i think.. =p
